Here is my final front cover for Unit 3. There is a number of things that I like about this cover. Firstly I like the range of font types. One of the issues I discussed in my front cover first draft write up was my range of font types as you can see here each sub header experiments with different kinds of fonts and it fits each theme well. For example the Godzilla sub header utilizes more of a monster font and it makes the title look more interesting giving it more of a variety. Although the titles on this cover may not be appealing as other titles that are commonly found in different magazine issues personally I like them they look fitting to the theme and they are more charm to the magazine cover, it looks similar to the sub headers found on an Empire magazine. Talking about the masthead I personally think it looks good. I have used a number of effects on the title to make it stand out more and it looks more professional the effects such as emboss and thick outline make it stand out more from the rest of the more standard text found in the rest of the magazine. The title HUB has remained the same throughout the year it appeared on my first magazine draft (Music magazine). I like the title because it is short, easy to remember and helps to create a lasting effect on the reader. Finally are the video game sprites I like these for a couple of different reason first of all they add plenty of decoration and colours to the background that would otherwise be white, secondly they help to fit in well with the theme of gaming, something that my front cover and double page spread centre largely around. Having said all this I still think that there are some parts of the front cover that could be improved upon for example the sub headers would have looked much better if there was some kind of outline on them, and also some more font colours could of been experimented with. I used a wide range of tools to put this front cover together e.g. photo filter, hue saturation, model opacity, magnetic lasso tool, using downloaded fonts, font editing tools, free transform etc.
